Massive Mixed-Use Projects in the Works in Dallas
Dallas continues to be a hot market for real estate developers, and some massive mixed-use projects slated for delivery mean the city’s desirability will remain on the rise. The demand for residential space continues to grow as the city’s population continues to increase, and as companies are increasingly relocating to Texas, new office assets will also be top of mind for developers.
Here are the high-profile mixed-use projects on the horizon in this thriving Sun Belt market:
Hillwood announces development of Hunter Ranch
Dallas-based Hillwood Development has announced plans to develop 3,200 acres, formerly known as Hunter Ranch, into a large mixed-use community. The land had been owned for years by the Perot Family, owners of Hillwood, and will finally see new life. Plans for the ambitious development include 6,000 homes, 3,000 units of multifamily space, as well as commercial office and retail space. The company has announced plans to break ground on the first 747 single-family lots in September.
Hines to go big in Uptown Dallas
Hines and Stockdale Investment Group are planning a major three-tower development called Knox Promenade in Uptown Dallas, featuring office, apartment, and senior living buildings totaling over 1 million square feet. The project, recently rezoned and awaiting final city council approval, will include 282 multifamily units, 220 senior living units, 355,000 square feet of office space, and 89,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. The project, alongside other significant projects in Uptown, underscores the area's rapid growth and emergence as a hotspot for new multifamily and mixed-use development.
LPC completes big acquisition for mixed-use project
Lincoln Property Company has acquired a four-acre site along Cedar Springs Road in Uptown Dallas for a major mixed-use development, including office spaces, luxury apartments, a five-star hotel, retail venues, and green spaces. The development will feature 400,000 to 500,000 square feet of office space, around 250 luxury apartments, a 200-key five-star hotel, and 25,000 square feet of food and beverage retail.
