    Downtown Indianapolis Real Estate Developers Gear Up for a Busy Summer

     

    Hospitality development has grown significantly in Indianapolis since the pandemic has started to slow down. As entertainment continues to remain a staple in the heart of Indy, recent activity will hopefully boost the economy to complement the development growth.

    Midland Pointe Development and Secure Holdings LLC are eyeing a 34-acre plot to develop commercial and retail space alongside townhomes. The development’s price tag is set at $72 million on the city’s westside near the Midland Trace Trail.

    Located on the corner of Pennsylvania and Georgia streets, Boxcar Development LLC is adding to Indianapolis’s hospitality offering. The entire development project includes a 26-story tower apartment with 254 apartments, 4,800 square feet of retail space, and 700 square feet of parking space. The tower next to the apartments will be a hotel complete with 225 hotel rooms and 18,000 square feet of retail space.

    16 Tech innovation district is one of the most exciting up and coming areas in Indy and features some of the hottest new developments. Browning Investments recently completed 16 tech buildings, one that will house multiple industrial clients. The building includes a 1,200 square foot research facility and the project came in around $30 million.

    A 100 year old building that long housed the local carmaker, Stutz is now being redeveloped into a mixed-use facility that will contain more than 400,000 square feet of retail, office space and even spaces for artistry. Somera Road will invest $65 Million into the project while the Department of Metropolitan Development will contribute $12.3 million in TIF funds.
