    San Antonio Real Estate News: A Growing Hotbed for New Development

    There is no shortage of opportunity for developers in San Antonio, as the city’s booming population and rich culture have given way to a multitude of new and innovative mixed-use and residential projects poised that will compliment the River City’s charm. 

    Development Updates in San Antonio

    San Antonio’s already rapidly expanding job market will continue to grow with the addition of a $230 million industrial park set to bring 1000 jobs to the River City. “Foster Commerce Center” will bring an abundance of opportunity and business to the San Antonio suburb China Grove, developed by Kansas City based developer NorthPoint. The first phase is scheduled to finish in the second quarter of 2023, which will include two buildings consisting of 650,000 sq. feet of speculative industrial space.

    After six long years, San Antonio developer Zachry Hospitality has finally been granted approval on their Hemisfair mixed-use hotel project. The project, designed by local architect Overland Partners will feature 17 stories, including 200 rooms with street level retail space available. Completion of the hotel is expected to be April 2025, just in time for the NCAA Men’s Final Four which will be hosted in San Antonio.

    Atlanta based RangeWater has broken ground on “Caliza at the Loop,” a new multi-family project located about 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio. The community will feature 154 townhome units, adding to San Antonio’s fast-growing market for residential development. “San Antonio is one of Texas’ fastest-growing cities due to its attractive job market. We’re proud to break ground on our second investment in this submarket and look forward to delivering an exceptional neighborhood to our residents.” said Steven Shores, Chairman and CEO of RangeWater.

    Visitors to San Antonio will soon have a new place to stay, as San Antonio based BH Hospitality Management plans a 147 room Homewood Suites, set for completion in 2024. One of the largest hotel developers in the state, the firm has six other hotel projects currently in development across Texas. Hotel bookings and revenue in San Antonio topped all of Texas in the fourth quarter of 2021, demonstrating the ripe market for the hospitality industry.
